Wrth fynd efo Deio i Dywyn

Mi dderbyniais bwt o lythyr,

Oddi wrth Mistar Jones o'r Brithdir,

Ac yn hwnnw 'r oedd o'n gofyn.

Awn i hefo Deio i Dywyn.

Bûm yr hir yn sad gysidro

Prun oedd orau mynd ai peidio,

Ond wedi'r oll bu i mi gychwyn

Hefo Deio i ffwrdd i Dywyn.

Fe gychwynnwyd ar nos Wener

Dod i Fawddwy erbyn swper;

Fe gaed yno uwd a menyn

Wrth fynd hefo Deio i Dywyn.

Dod ymlaen ac heibio i'r Dinas

Bara a chaws a gaed yng Ngwanas,

Trwy Dalyllyn yr aem yn llinyn

Wrth fynd hefo Deio i Dywyn.

Dod drwy Abergynolwyn

Wedyn heibio Craig y Deryn:

Pan gyrhaedd'som Ynys Maengwyn.

Gwaeddai Deio, "Dacw Dywyn!"

Os bydda'i byw un flwyddyn eto

Mynna'n helaeth iawn gynilo;

Mi gaf bleser anghyffredin

Wrth fynd hefo Deio i Dywyn.

Going to Tywyn with Deio

I received a letter

From Mr Jones from Brithdir

And in it he was asking

If I would go to Tywyn with Deio

I thought long and hard

If it would be better if I went or not

But after all that I began

To go to Tywyn with Deio

It began on Friday night

Coming to Mawddwy by suppertime

We got porridge and butter there

Whilst going to Tywyn with Deio

Coming ahead and passing Dinas

Bread and cheese to be had in Gwanas

Through Dalyllyn we went in a row

Whilst going to Tywyn with Deio

Coming through Abergynolwyn

And then passing Craig y Dern:

When we reached Ynys Maengwyn,

Deio cried, "That's Tywyn!"

If I lived another year

I will save up money

I will have the uncommon pleasure

Of going to Tywyn with Deio
